Janbırbay Mataev, Chairman of the Assembly of the Mangıstav Region of Kazakhstan, and the accompanying delegation paid a courtesy visit to our Rector Prof. Dr. Ahmet Hamdi Topal on 17 October 2024.
Vice-Rectors Prof. Dr. Ömer Küçük and Mehmet Atalan and Foreign Relations General Coordinator Assoc. Prof. Dr. M. Öztürk Akcaoğlu was also present during the visit, and academic and cultural cooperation opportunities between the two countries were discussed.
Our Rector Prof. Dr. Ahmet Hamdi Topal expressed his pleasure to welcome Janbırbay Mataev and his delegation to our university and stated that scientific cooperation with Kazakhstan will be further strengthened through existing projects and academic exchange programs. Our Rector emphasized that the cooperation with universities in Kazakhstan will contribute to the academic development of both sides in line with the internationalization goals of Kastamonu University.
Janbırbay Mataev stated that they closely follow the academic achievements of Kastamonu University and as Mangıstav Region, they are open to cooperation with Turkey in every field. Mataev stated that they aim to carry out joint projects with Turkish universities, especially in agriculture, energy, and cultural heritage. He also expressed that this visit will contribute to the further development of relations between Kazakhstan and Turkey and thanked our Rector for his interest and hospitality.
The visit ended after the presentation of gifts and a photo shoot in memory of the day.
