A general evaluation of all universities is made with the ‘University Monitoring and Evaluation General Report’ prepared by the Council of Higher Education within the scope of ‘University Monitoring and Evaluation’ studies. In the ‘University Monitoring and Evaluation General Report-2024’ report, there are 5 main categories under ‘Education and Training’, ‘Research and Development, Projects and Publications’, ‘Internationalisation’, ‘Sustainability’, and ‘Community Service and Social Responsibility’. In the report, where the data belonging to each indicator under the main categories are shared, the names of the universities that have newly entered the top 20 this year are included.
Kastamonu University ranked in the top 20 in 6 areas in the 2024 Monitoring and Evaluation Report published by the Council of Higher Education (YÖK), which evaluated 201 universities across Turkey. In the 2024 Monitoring and Evaluation Report of the Council of Higher Education, in which Turkey's average is given in each parameter, our university ranked in the top 20 among all universities in Turkey with 141 social responsibility projects. Our university ranked in the top 20 in the list of universities with the highest budget for projects carried out jointly with the industry. Kastamonu University works to contribute to the development of our province and country with its projects centered on industry-university cooperation.
When the calculation is made by taking into account the data of each university for the past years, Kastamonu University, which is among the top 20 universities with the highest number of TÜBİTAK projects utilized, ranks 9th with 648 projects. Kastamonu University stands out with its support for scientific research and project contributions. In our university, where the project culture has started to spread to the base, significant increases in the number of projects have been achieved in the last few years.

Our University Ranked Above Average in Many Areas in the Higher Education Council 2024 Report
In addition, according to the 2024 Higher Education Council Monitoring Report, other areas where Kastamonu University has achieved above-average success include the number of industrial/sectoral projects carried out by students, the proportion of graduates in the graduate tracking system, the field-weighted citation index, the number of patents, utility models or designs applied, the number of international students, the ratio of green space and the number of student communities.
Internationalization studies are one of the important goals of Kastamonu University in the strategic plan. International projects, collaborations, international activities, and the increase in the number of academic staff coming within the scope of exchange programs make significant contributions to the development of academic cooperation in the international arena.
