President of Religious Affairs Prof. Dr. Ali Erbaş visited Kastamonu University within the scope of his programs in Kastamonu and examined the ongoing mosque construction on the campus of our University.
On 28 September 2024, Prof. Dr. Erbaş and the accompanying delegation were welcomed by Vice Rectors Prof. Dr. Mehmet Atalan and Prof. Dr. Ömer Küçük on behalf of our University and Kastamonu University Mosque Construction and Sustenance Association officials.
President Erbaş was accompanied by Kastamonu Governor Meftun Dallı, Kastamonu MPs Serap Ekmekci and Halil Uluay, Provincial Mufti Bekir Derin, and representatives of institutions.
During the visit, information about the technical details of the construction and the general progress of the project was presented by Dr Ercan Sinaner, the technical advisor of the mosque and the contractor company responsible. Dr. Sinaner stated that the mosque construction is designed to be compatible with the architectural structure in the region and will serve a wide range of people, especially university students, and academic and administrative staff when completed. He also emphasized that the project is being carried out in an environmentally sensitive manner and will include modern worship areas and social facilities.
Prof. Dr. Ali Erbaş visited the mosque construction site and made on-site inspections of the project. During the visit, Prof. Dr. Erbaş emphasized that the mosque will meet an important need for university students and residents of Kuzeykent Neighbourhood and stated that the necessary support will be provided for the completion of the construction.
After the visit, Vice Rectors Prof. Dr. Mehmet Atalan and Prof. Dr. Ömer Küçük expressed their thanks to Prof. Dr. Ali Erbaş, President of Religious Affairs, for his visit to our University. Prof. Dr. Erbaş, on the other hand, wished that the mosque construction would be completed quickly and brought to our University.
