An experience-sharing meeting on the Institutional Accreditation Program (KAP) was held at Kastamonu University on July 18, 2024, at Kastamonu University Faculty of Theology Conference Hall with the participation of Gazi University Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Ramazan Bayındır.
Our Rector, Prof. Dr Ahmet Hamdi Topal, Vice-Rectors, Prof. Dr Ömer Küçük, Prof. Dr Mehmet Atalan and senate members, unit quality commission members, university quality commission members and university sub-commission members attended the meeting.
Vice-Rector Prof. Dr Ömer Küçük made the opening speech of the meeting. Prof. Dr. Küçük gave information about the meeting and gave the floor to Prof. Dr. Ramazan Bayındır, Vice Rector of Gazi University.
In his speech, Prof. Dr. Bayındır talked about the importance of the work to be carried out at the institution and unit level for the sustainability of institutional accreditation success.
Prof. Dr. Bayındır made a presentation about Gazi University's experiences within the scope of the Institutional Accreditation Program (KAP) and shared information about the quality assurance systems and accreditation preparations and practices carried out in the academic and administrative units of Gazi University within the framework of the YÖKAK Institutional Accreditation Program.
Prof. Dr. Bayındır stated that to realize the quality policy of the university and to achieve success, action plans for the improvement of quality should be prepared by the Quality Commission to sustain the strengths of the institution and to improve the aspects open to improvement and stated that conducting satisfaction surveys in units and evaluating the unit internal evaluation report should be a priority.
A question and answer session was held among the participants at the end of the meeting. Academics received detailed information about Gazi University's accreditation processes and exchanged ideas on strategies they could implement in their units.
Speaking at the end of the meeting, our Rector, Prof. Dr Ahmet Hamdi Topal, started his speech by thanking Prof. Dr Ramazan Bayındır for sharing his experience.
In his speech, our Rector emphasized how important institutional accreditation processes are for our University. He stated that quality processes should be managed effectively to raise the quality standards of our university and increase its international competitiveness.
Our Rector stated that the experiences gained from Gazi University's successful accreditation processes will be a guide for Kastamonu University. He said that such experience-sharing meetings would strengthen the quality assurance system of our University and contribute to our success in accreditation processes.
Our Rector also emphasized the importance of sustaining the strengths of our University and developing the areas that need improvement and drew attention to the importance of all stakeholders taking an active role in this process. He emphasized the need to ensure the participation of students and external stakeholders' involvement in quality processes and academic and administrative units.
Our Rector thanked the participants for their support of the quality processes and stated that he believes these meetings will play an essential role in realizing the quality policy of our University.
