The first Advisory Board Meeting, organized to evaluate our university's current situation and determine its future goals, was held on 25 June 2024 at the Senate Hall with representatives of public, industry and non-governmental organizations and business people.
Our Rector, Prof. Dr. Ahmet Hamdi Topal, and the senior management of our university came together with public institutions, the business world and non-governmental organizations within the framework of the first Advisory Board Meeting to develop a participatory management and organizational structure and corporate culture.
Prof. Dr. Ahmet Hamdi Topal, our rector, presided over the gathering. Our Vice-Rectors, Profs. Drs. Mehmet Atalan, Ömer Küçük, and Kasım Yenigün, along with representatives from public institutions and organisations, businesspeople, and non-governmental organisation representatives, attended the conference.
The introductory movie about our university was shown at the beginning of the meeting. Then, a comprehensive presentation was made about the studies, achievements and ongoing projects at our University. The presentation emphasised the activities and achievements of our University, Kastamonu Technopolis, Kastamonu University Technology Transfer Office and Forestry and Nature Tourism Specialization Coordinatorship.
Our Rector, who made the opening speech, stated that they came together with external stakeholders to evaluate institutional improvements and that they want future plans to be realized with a systematic and institutional understanding. Our Rector said that they are working to realize the functions of education, training, research, entrepreneurship and community service in a qualified way by prioritizing continuous development and innovation in line with the experience and knowledge of our university, the ideas and opinions of external stakeholders.
In his speech, our Rector emphasized that our University is trying to contribute to the city and the importance of constantly consulting with internal and external stakeholders to create and update plans, develop research and development collaborations, and achieve social contribution goals.
Emphasizing that our university has achieved a significant momentum in the field of research thanks to the potential brought by its young and dynamic structure and the advantages of being a specialized university in the field of Forestry and Nature Tourism, our Rector also announced that they are working to provide training and consultancy to companies operating in line with the regional development goals of our University, to increase patent and utility model applications, to ensure the commercialization of appropriate patents and to rank high in the performance index of technology development regions. He also stated that they aim to bring economic mobility to the region by organizing new entrepreneurship programs.
Stating that they are working to strengthen cooperation with NGOs and increase the number of qualified joint activities in the field of social contribution and social responsibility, our Rector said that they aim to ensure that social responsibility projects are carried out in all faculties, colleges and Vocational Schools and to organize qualified training and courses within the scope of lifelong learning every year.
After the opening speech, stakeholders shared their opinions, suggestions, and ideas by putting forward various views on the future of our university at the first Advisory Board Meeting, which was organized to evaluate our university's current situation and determine its future goals.
At the end of the meeting, stakeholders agreed to cooperate to strengthen the University and provide wider opportunities for students.
