Our Rector, Prof. Dr Ahmet Hamdi Topal, hosted Prof. Dr Nurlan Dulatbekov, Rector of Karaganda Buketov University of Kazakhstan, and the accompanying delegation in his office on May 4, 2024.

Vice Rectors Prof. Dr. Mehmet Atalan, Prof. Dr. Ömer Küçük and External Relations General Coordinator Assoc. Prof. Dr. Öztürk Akçaoğlu were also present. The meeting discussed potential areas of cooperation and joint projects between the two universities.
During the meeting between the delegations after the visit, Kastamonu University Faculty of Tourism, Department of Tourism Management and Karaganda Buketov University Faculty of Economics, Department of Tourism, as well as Kastamonu University Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, Department of Contemporary Turkish Dialects and Literatures and Karaganda Buketov University Faculty of Philology, Department of Kazakh Language and Literature, exchanged views on cooperation opportunities and various fields, especially double degree programs.

Serhat Yılmaz, Dean of the Faculty of Tourism Prof. Dr. Alptekin Sökmen, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Architecture Prof. Dr İzzet Şener, Dean of the Faculty of Sports Sciences Prof. Dr Bilgehan Baydil, Director of the Institute of Social Sciences Prof. Dr Abdullah Aydın, Director of the Institute of Social Sciences, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Abdullah Aydın, Director of the Turkish Language Teaching Application and Research Center Assoc. Prof. Dr. Erol Topal, General Coordinator of the Foreign Relations Office Assoc. Dr. Mustafa Öztürk Akçaoğlu and Coordinator of Bilateral Agreements and Protocols Institution Assoc. Dr Osman Sabri Kesbiç, Head of the Department of Contemporary Turkish Dialects at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, Prof. Dr Orhan Söylemez and Head of the Department of Tourism Management at the Faculty of Tourism, Prof. Dr Kutay Oktay were also attended.
After the visit, the delegation visited Kastamonu University Central Research Laboratory and made examinations. After the inspection visit, the protocol on “Establishment of an International Joint Master's Degree Education and Training Program in Kazakh and Turkish Languages and Literatures” was signed between the two institutions.
Expressing his pleasure to cooperate with Karaganda Buketov University, Rector Prof. Dr Ahmet Hamdi Topal stated that the cooperation had been expanded with the signed protocol and that they believe this document will further strengthen the historical and cultural ties between the two countries. Emphasizing that the protocol will allow him to use the potential of cooperation more effectively, he thanked the delegation of Karaganda Buketov University for their visit and cooperation.
The Rector of Karaganda Buketov University, Dulatbekov, expressed his pleasure to cooperate with Kastamonu University and stated that they believe that such cooperation will increase the cultural and academic experiences of students and academicians, will contribute to the deepening of relations between Turkey and Kazakhstan and thanked our Rector Prof. Dr. Ahmet Hamdi Topal for his hospitality.
