As a result of its intensive efforts, the Faculty of Tourism of our university has received accreditation certificates for the "Tourism Guidance Undergraduate Programme" and "Gastronomy and Culinary Arts Undergraduate Programme" accredited by the Tourism Education Evaluation and Accreditation Board (TURAK), the only institution authorised by the Higher Education Quality Board (YÖKAK) in the field of tourism.
With these accreditations, the Faculty of Tourism became the first and only faculty to have all its departments accredited. Under the leadership of Alptekin Sökmen, Dean of the Faculty of Tourism, TURAK members Prof.Dr. Azize Tunç Hassan and Assoc.Prof.Dr. Gülten Yurtsever, Faculty of Tourism Quality Unit Manager,Assoc. Prof.Dr. Canan Tanrısever, Head of the Department of Tourism Guidance Assoc.Prof.Dr. Nagihan Çakmakoğlu Arıcı, and Head of the Department of Gastronomy and Culinary Arts Assoc.Prof.Dr. Alev Sökmen, accreditation certificates were presented to our Rector, Prof.Dr. Ahmet Hamdi Topal.
In his speech at the ceremony, our Rector emphasised that our university has carried out essential studies on forestry and nature tourism, which are the specialties of our university, and that the Faculty of Tourism deserves this success with its scientific studies in national and international fields. He also stated that being our university's first fully accredited faculty is essential to the specialisation process.
Our rector stated that they work with a student- and research-oriented management approach based on quality standards and that the accreditation studies of other departments continue with the same care and interest. He congratulated the success of the Faculty of Tourism. He thanked the Dean of the Faculty of Tourism, Prof. Dr. Alptekin Sökmen, and the academic and administrative staff of the faculty.
TURAK Member Prof. Dr. Azize Tunç Hassan stated that accreditation is an important indicator of success and wished success to the Faculty of Tourism.
