During his visit to Kastamonu, Dr. Ömer İleri, AK Party Deputy Chairman for Information and Communication Technologies, visited Kastamonu Technopolis and met with our students, entrepreneur candidates, and entrepreneur companies in the Idea Factory.
Before he visited Kastamonu Technopolis, AK Party Deputy Chairman and Head of Information and Communication Technologies, Dr. Ömer İleri, visited our Rector, Prof.Dr. Ahmet Hamdi Topal, in his office.
Expressing his satisfaction with the visit, our Rector thanked AK Party Deputy Chairman Dr. Ömer İleri for his kind visit and gave information about our university and Technopolis.
AK Party Deputy Chairman Dr. Ömer İleri stated that they closely followed the work of our university and thanked our Rector for his interest and hospitality.
After the visit, Dr. İleri came together with our students, entrepreneur candidates, and entrepreneur companies in the Kastamonu Technopolis Idea Factory and expressed his satisfaction with the projects carried out in Kastamonu Technopolis in the context that they attach great importance to digitalization.

Serap Ekmekci, our Rector Ahmet Hamdi Topal, Vice Rectors Prof.Dr. Kasım Yenigün and Prof.Dr. Ömer Küçük, AK Party Deputy Chairman of Information and Communication Technologies Davut Arpa, representatives of public institutions and organizations, students, entrepreneur candidates, and representatives of entrepreneurial companies attended the program.
Underscoring that Teknokent is a critical issue for Turkey, Dr. İleri stated that he is a former academic himself and that he was the head of ALP (Directorate of Research and Graduate Policies) and Technology Transfer Office at Sabancı University for a while.
Dr. İleri stated that they know the crucial role of technoparks and technopolises in Turkey's R&D ecosystem and emphasized Turkey's efforts and achievements in technology and digital transformation. Emphasizing the importance of developing technology for Turkey's progress in the digital age, Dr. İleri stated that this effort is essential and that he sees success stories in technocities and science centers in every city he visits in Turkey.
In his speech, Dr. İleri emphasized that the contributions to the technological development of our country are not limited to incentive policies and that investments in education and research also play a significant role. Stating that the support provided to make universities internationally competitive increases young people's interest in technology and enables talented young people to grow, Dr. İleri said that the projects carried out in cooperation with the private sector help academics and students interact more with the sector and produce solutions to real-world problems.
Answering the students' questions on topics such as the importance of TEKNOFEST, artificial intelligence applications, and cyber security, Dr. İleri emphasized that the developments in these fields make significant contributions to the technological progress of our country.
At the end of the program, Kastamonu Teknokent General Manager and Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Kasım Yenigün presented a gift to Dr. Ömer İleri, AK Party Deputy Chairman for Information and Communication Technologies. The program ended after a photo shoot in memory of the day.
After the program, AK Party Deputy Chairman Dr. Ömer İleri, the accompanying delegation, and our Rector, Prof.Dr. Ahmet Hamdi Topal, visited the prototype workshop, where pre-incubation students and graduates who continue their entrepreneurship training within the Kastamonu Teknokent Enterprise Valley Incubation Center, as well as the teams preparing for TEKNOFEST, received information about the work done.
