Kastamonu University rose 152 places to 2,287th in the URAP 2023-2024 world ranking prepared by the URAP (University Ranking by Academic Performance) Research Laboratory prepared by the Middle East Technical University (METU) Informatics Institute. Continuing its success, our University has risen 204 places in the last three years.
The University Ranking By Academic Performance (URAP) Research Laboratory, which operates within the Middle East Technical University (METU) Informatics Institute, announced the 2023–2024 World Ranking on December 19, 2023. According to the criteria determined according to the quality, quantity, and citation order of scientific publications of universities, 3000 universities were ranked worldwide. In the 2023-2024 period, while 118 universities among 208 universities from Turkey could enter the ranking, our university found itself in 70th place among 118 universities.
The URAP 2023-2024 world ranking, in which universities are ranked according to the number of articles they produced in 2022 and their performance in the fields of number of citations, total number of scientific documents, total publication impact, total citation impact, and international cooperation with a 5-year evaluation from 2022, was announced.
Our Rector, Prof. Dr. Ahmet Hamdi Topal stated that according to the data announced by URAP Research Laboratory, our University is proud and happy to rise 152 places among the top 3 thousand universities in the world and stated that Kastamonu University, the name of sustainable success, has added a new one to its achievements in the academic community. Our Rector also said that they have maximized their achievements in national and international platforms with the number and quality of scientific publications by climbing 204 places in the world rankings in the last three years and added that they will continue to work without slowing down to raise the bar even higher.
Our Rector thanked Prof. Dr. Erol Özvar, President of the Council of Higher Education, and members of the Council of Higher Education and Prof. Dr. Hasan Mandal, President of TUBITAK, who provided all kinds of support in achieving both national and international successes, and underlined that this support contributed greatly to the recognition of our University in the national and international arena.
