Kastamonu University Faculty of Medicine, Department of Cardiovascular Surgery Assisstant Professor Burak Tamtekin and his team have achieved great success in their recent operations. Dr. Assist. Cardiovascular Surgery specialist Assisstant Professor Burak Tamtekin and his team restored two elderly patients to their health without risky surgeries, while another patient's finger had to be amputated due to diabetes, and the finger healed by treating it.
When 96-year-old Hüseyin Ayar was told that his toe had to be amputated due to diabetes, Assisstant Professor Burak Tamtekin and his team stepped in. He performed leg angiography and stem cell therapy by applying a hybrid treatment method. As a result of the treatment, the color of the patient's toe improved and the healing phase started.
Patients are treated without undergoing risky surgeries
At the same time, Assisstant Professor. Tamtekin and his team also operated on 73-year-old Veli Çayır and 74-year-old Ali Özsoy, who were being treated at Kastamonu Training and Research Hospital for "ballooning in the aortic vessels". Such patients had previously undergone risky sternum or abdominal cavity surgeries. However, Assisstant Professor Tamtekin's team treated the patients without undergoing risky surgeries thanks to the angiography method.
With this technique, which was applied for the first time in Kastamonu Training and Research Hospital, both patients underwent stent placement into the aortic vessel bubble in the closed system by angiography method. After the operation, the patients were discharged the next day without intensive care.
