Kastamonu University Muhammad Ihsan Oguz Application and Research Center coordinated the Muhammad Ihsan Oguz Theology Thesis Competition held among all universities across Turkey, with a ceremony organized for academics who were successful with their master's and doctoral theses.
In the first part of the award ceremony, the panel titled "Muhammed İhsan Oğuz and the Science of Sufism" moderated by Prof. Dr. Metin Yurdagür was held on October 23, 2023 at the Central Library Sezai Karakoç Hall.
The panel, which was attended by a large number of academics and students, started with a moment of silence and National Anthem, and the Holy Quran was recited. The opening speech of the panel was made by Prof. Dr. Metin Yurdagür, Dean of the Faculty of Theology.
Prof. Dr. Yurdagür started his speech by commemorating the martyrs in Palestine. Then Prof. Yurdagür finished his speech by reciting a prayer for the people who died in Palestine.
Firstly, Prof. Dr. Necdet Tosun, lecturer of Marmara University Faculty of Theology, Department of Sufism, gave a speech titled "The Issue of Wahdat-i Body and Wahdat Shuhud in the Context of the Correspondence between Avni Konuk and Muhammed İhsan Oğuz", then Prof. Dr. Eyyüp Akdağ, lecturer of Kastamonu University Faculty of Theology, Department of Sufism, Assoc. Prof. Eyyüp Akdağ made his presentations on "Ahseniyya, the Way of Being a Servant of Allah and an Ummah of the Prophet according to Muhammad Ihsan Oguz" and finally Sevim Arslan, lecturer at Eskişehir Osmangazi University Faculty of Theology, Department of Sufism, made her presentations on "Muhammad Ihsan Oguz's Understanding of Sufism Around Sufi Concepts".
In the afternoon part of the program, the researchers who ranked with their master's and doctoral theses in the competition, in which a total of 108 theses, 52 of which were master's theses and 56 doctoral theses, applied in 2023, were awarded.

Speaking at the ceremony, Director of Muhammed İhsan Oğuz Application and Research Center Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mustafa Aykaç said, "It is very important to provide financial opportunities and facilities while carrying out these activities. For this reason, I would like to thank the managers of the Muhammad Ihsan Oguz Foundation, who have supported our center financially, and our vice-rectors and Rector Prof. Dr. Ahmet Hamdi Topal, who have always stood by us and supported us."

Speaking on behalf of the foundation at the award ceremony, Mehmet İhsan Oğuz, Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Muhammed İhsan Oğuz Foundation, stated that they support such studies and that the Faculty of Theology ranked first with 24 projects according to the results of the first semester of TUBITAK's 2209-A Undergraduate Students Support Program 2023. Oğuz said, "Hitit University ranked 2nd with 14 projects. Considering that TUBITAK accepted 79 projects in the field of theology in Turkey, it is a serious success that 24 of them are from Kastamonu University Faculty of Theology. We congratulate this great success in your presence. As a foundation, we will support all kinds of scientific studies on "Muhammed İhsan Oğuz"."

Our Rector Prof. Dr. Ahmet Hamdi Topal, who took the floor after the President of the Foundation, expressed his honor to be a member of the Islamic religion and underlined that Islam is very sensitive in encouraging people to science, learning and production.

In his speech, our Rector said "Read, read in the name of your Lord, the Creator! He created man from "alak". Read! Your Lord is the most generous. He is the one who teaches writing with the pen and teaches man what he does not know" and said that Kastamonu University, with its strong and idealistic academic staff, continues its scientific activities with an understanding that thinks, researches and constantly aims to achieve better.
Our Rector Prof. Dr. Ahmet Hamdi Topal, in his speech, said that our university wishes to support and spread scientific studies by honoring and rewarding academic achievements and congratulated the scholars and consultant faculty members who carried out the studies deemed worthy of the Muhammad İhsan Oğuz Theology Research Awards. Our Rector concluded his words by wishing that the excitement, effort, pride and success of the award-winning scientists will continue on behalf of the future of the country and their desire to be beneficial to all humanity.
Kastamonu Mayor Op. Dr. Galip Vidinlioğlu, who took the floor after our Rector Prof. Dr. Ahmet Hamdi Topal, commemorated the martyrs in Palestine in his speech. In his speech, Mayor Vidinlioğlu reminded that the Republic of Turkey stands by the oppressed people in the world and reminded that Palestine should be supported.
AK Party MP F. Serap Ekmekci, who took the floor after the Mayor, commemorated Muhammed İhsan Oğuz by recalling his efforts in the War of Independence in his speech.
"Societies rise when the understanding of accident and fate is fully perceived"
Taking the floor after MP Ekmekçi, Kocaeli MP Katırcıoğlu drew attention to the need for universities to merge with society and pointed out that universities should produce solutions to the problems of society.
Reminding that human blood is flowing in the Islamic geography from Gaza to Yemen today because the essence of the understanding of Islam cannot be reached, MP Katırcıoğlu said that when the understanding of accident and fate is fully perceived, individuals and societies that apply the understanding of accident and fate correctly in their own lives will rise. Katırcıoğlu underlined that there should be unity and solidarity in Islam and that there should be a complete and independent nation and that this will be realized with science and science.
Taking the floor after Katırcıoğlu, AK Party Kastamonu MP Lawyer. Halil Uluay said that people are being killed in the name of religion and pointed out that these deaths are watched silently by the world. Stating that all studies carried out in the name of science will contribute to world peace, Uluay wished for the continuity of scientific studies.
Meftun Dallı, the Governor of Kastamonu, who took the last word, said that some of the foundations created by the rich people build buildings and some support them to produce science. Stating that Muhammed İhsan Oğuz contributed to the society by leaving both science and good children, he thanked everyone who received awards, applied, counselled students and the foundation managers for their support.
At the end of the opening speeches, the awards of the academicians who were successful in the "Muhammad İhsan Oğuz IV. Theology Research Thesis Competition" with their master's and doctoral theses were given by the protocol members who attended the event.
In the continuation of the program, the members of the scientific committee of the competition and the presenters of the panel titled "Muhammed İhsan Oğuz and the Science of Sufism" were given plaques, and 10 students who entered the Faculty of Theology of our University with high scores in the 2023-2024 academic year were presented with certificates of success.
