Faculty members of our university have achieved significant success by being included in the list of "The World's Most Influential Scientists" prepared by Stanford University in the USA.
Announced on October 4, 2023, the latest list of the world's most influential scientists, compiled annually by scientists from Stanford University, was recently published by Elsevier, a Netherlands-based publishing company specializing in scientific, technical, and medical content.
The ranking was listed in two categories: "career-long impact" and "annual impact". While creating the ranking, international criteria such as the number of qualified publications of academics, the impact of the journal in which the publications are included, the number of patents, the number of citations, h-index, hm-index, the number of articles, the number of cited articles, and the impact of the journal in which they are published were used.
In the list ranked according to detailed criteria, a total of 204,644 scientists were evaluated in the "annual impact" category. While 1,202 scientists represented our country, the Faculty of Engineering and Architecture Computer Engineering Department Faculty Member Assoc. Prof. Dr. Melike Kaplan Yalçın, Environmental Engineering Department Faculty Member Assoc. Dr. Hakan Şevik, Food Engineering Department Faculty Member Assoc. Dr. Osman Gül and Faculty of Science Faculty Member Prof. Dr. Şeref Turhan announced the name of our university to the world.
Our Rector, Prof. Dr. Ahmet Hamdi Topal stated that our academic staff work in line with a sense of responsibility to serve our country, nation and humanity and emphasized that they have achieved world-class achievements within the framework of this responsibility.
Expressing his satisfaction with the increasing academic, sports and cultural achievements worldwide every year, our Rector congratulated the academicians and wished them success. In addition, our Rector thanked Prof. Dr. Erol Özvar, President of the Higher Education Council (YÖK), who supported our university in these achievements.
