Our University's “2022-2023 Academic Year Graduation Ceremony” was held on 7th July, 2023 at Emin Baydil Stadium.
At the ceremony, thousands of our students experienced the pride of graduating from Kastamonu University.
To the ceremony hosted by our Rector Prof. Dr. Ahmet Hamdi Topal; Kastamonu Governor Avni Çakır, Parliamentarian of Kastamonu Fatma Serap Ekmekci, Kastamonu’s Mayor Dr. Rahmi Galip Vidinlioğlu, Mechanical and Chemical Industry Corporation (MKE) General Director İlhami Keleş, Managers of public establishments, Vice Rectors, Prof. Dr. Mehmet Atalan, Prof. Dr. Ömer Küçük, Prof. Dr. Kasım Yenigün, our academic and administrative staff, students and their families attended.
After a moment of silence and the National Anthem, the graduation ceremony continued with academic procession in which the graduating students took part. After the procession, the valedictorian of the year, Melike Şekercioğlu, graduate of the Faculty of Health Sciences, made the opening speech of the ceremony. In her speech, Şekercioğlu willed her friends success in their new lives, and wished that intelligence and science will always be with them. After her speech, Şekercioğlu nailed her name to the graduation age log.
After Şekercioğlu’s speech, our rector Prof. Dr. Ahmet Hamdi Topal spoke and wished our graduate students success in their lives. Our Rector stated that our students have entered a new life and emphasized that he will miss our students and they are valuable for Kastamonu University.Our Rector said, that "The doors of this school will always be open for you. We will always be with you and will continue to be your biggest supporters as we were yesterday."
Our Rector also addressed the families in his speech, he told that they should be proud of their children: "We have worked diligently with our academic staff to ensure that your children, who are the apple of your eyes, become individuals with high self-confidence, principled, high quality, competent, scientific knowledge and skills, loyal to national and moral values, successful in human relations, professional knowledge, prone to learning and research, and taking responsibility. During this time, your children did their parts and worked hard to prepare for their life. On behalf of our University, I would like to thank you, our families, for raising good children for our country and nation.”
Mayor Galip Vidinlioğlu, MP Fatma Serap Ekmekci and Governor Avni Çakır made speeches, congratulated our students and their families, and wished them success in their new lives.
At the program, our Rector Prof. Dr. Ahmet Hamdi Topal presented awards to the top three students in the university rankings. Governor Avni Çakır, MP Fatma Serap Ekmekci and Mayor Galip Vidinlioğlu also presented awards to the students first, second and third place in faculties.Awards were given to the first, second and third place winner students in our university's colleges and vocational schools by Provincial Gendarmerie Commander Colonel Zafer Özden, Provincial General Assembly President Güray Parçal, and Kastamonu Provincial Director of Industry and Technology Selahattin Emirsüleymanoğlu.
On behalf of her father's colleagues working at MKE, MKE General Manager İlhami Keleş presented a plaque to Burcu Kutlu, the third place winner at the University and the second in the Faculty of Education, whose father was martyred in the explosion that took place on 10th June, 2023, in the Rocket and Explosive Factory of the Mechanical and Chemical Industry Corporation (MKE) in Elmadağ,
The first part of the graduation ceremony, in which awards and achievement certificates were presented, ended with the protocol members and students coming together to take a photo and cap throwing ceremony.
After the cap throwing ceremony, the concert program started. Our students had an unforgettable entertainment with the songs of Gökhan Battı & Boombar and Demode, who took the stage with their energetic performances.
