The opening of the "Baby and Child Library" within the Child Education and Research Center in the area within the Central Library of our University was held on 7th of June, 2023.
Our Rector Prof. Dr. Ahmet Hamdi Topal, Provincial Director of National Education Cengiz Bahcacıoğlu, Vice Rectors Prof. Dr. Mehmet Atalan and Prof. Dr. Kasım Yenigün, our academic and administrative staff and students attended the opening ceremony.
At the opening ceremony of the library, the importance of the library, which was established to instill a love of books and to teach sharing to children at an early age, was emphasized. At the same time, he concluded his speech by thanking all our academic and administrative staff who contributed to the creation of the library.
Director of Child Education and Research Center, Assoc. Prof.Dr. Berat Ahi gave information about the establishment process of the Baby and Children Library, the work done and the fields of activity. He also stated that the rich book and playground in the library will improve children's love of reading and social skills, and thanked those who contributed to the establishment of the library.
Emphasizing that they aim to develop the imagination of children with books in different languages and genres, our Rector underlined that as Kastamonu University, they will provide all kinds of support to children.
After the opening speech, the ribbon-cutting ceremony was held by the little guests.
In the continuation of the program, a reading activity for children was organized by the Lecturer Nevzat Şensizoğlu from Education Faculty. In addition, the book exhibition for the children was organized and presented by Lecturer. Dr. Hacer Hancı from Kastamonu Vocational School to the taste of the little ones and guests.
